Tourism NT drops Frost
Design agency Frost has split with its long term client Tourism NT.
In an announcement, Frost said:
After a highly successful five year tenure, Frost* is parting ways with Tourism NT.
The split follows a review by Tourism NT of its overall marketing strategy and a decision to shift in a new direction, with plans to invest heavily in broadcast and digital.
“As a design driven business, Tourism NT’s change in business strategy means that there are probably other agencies with a more appropriate skill set for the account” said Vince Frost, Creative Director and Chairman of Frost. “Having your client’s best interests at heart is as much about knowing when the time is right to let them go”.
Frost held the Tourism NT account since 2005, successfully securing a second contract period during that time and the agency is extremely proud of their strategic and creative outputs.
“We’re very happy with the iconic work we created for the NT team, which will undoubtedly provide their future agencies with a very solid platform to build upon. We feel very positive about the opportunities they gave us and wish Tourism NT every success in the future.”
Frost should feel very proud of what they’ve done for NT – that NT device was very clever… put the NT on the map and set them apart from ‘never never know’. Well done!

I thought Frost was positioning for this kind of work, so it comes as a surprise.

I don’t get the ‘design driven business’ comment from Vince… isn’t that we he does? I almost choked on the ‘clients best interests at heart and knowing when to let them go” how hilarious! – smells like a (stage managed) sacking to me…

Agree, Frost will be disappointed. This says to clients their offering is limited.

That client are notorious for being the most indecisive, intolerable and negative of bullies. MPG’s recent forced apology, and now frost’s recent statement sounds contrived by a puppet master client.

We pitched for the business a few years ago. Yes, we were warned that they were going to be tricky clients to take on. The pitch experience reinforced that. However, it was a three year government contract and marketing strategy. It has only been two years into the contract???

Tori I think you are giving way to much credit to Frost, from what I’ve heard their staff turnover has been incredible, now wonder the client is not happy. The client might not be an angel but it takes two to tango. Great leadership can turn any relationship around, clearly its lacking, that’s the message for me.

Sitting on the fence- I saw some very strange client behaviour. They went troppo years ago! They weren’t even a client!
