Tourism NT opens tender for a panel of public relations agencies

Tourism NT has released a tender seeking a panel of public relations agencies.

The successful agencies will form a press office for Tourism NT’s Domestic Consumer Communications and Northern Territory Business Events division, generating national media coverage that aligns with the organisation’s wider marketing activities. The panellists will also be tasked with raising awareness of Tourism NT’s new positioning ‘Different in every sense’.

Also new to the contract is the requirement to run a ‘strategic business events-focused press office’, tasked with securing national and international media coverage for targeted business events and vertical media, to position the Northern Territory as a competitive business events destination.

One or multiple agencies will also be responsible for various PR projects including events and activations.

The PR contract will last for two years

The tender will close on January 24. The new contract will last for 24 months from 31 January 2020.

Sydney-based Access PR currently holds the public relations account for Tourism NT, after winning the tender in 2017. A spokesperson from Access PR confirmed to Mumbrella that the agency will be defending the business.

Tourism NT executive general manager marketing, Tony Quarmby, said: “Our PR agency panellists are an extension of our team and the resource they provide is invaluable in ensuring every corner of our unique and amazing Territory is featured where and when consumers are looking for great content.

“The new brand positioning, Different in every sense, doesn’t just encapsulate the uniqueness of our destination, being different is in our DNA and we need all our partners including our PR panellists to be different in the way they approach, source and produce our services”.

In October 2018, KWP won the two year creative agency contract for Tourism NT. In March 2019, Atomic 212 was reappointed to the two year media agency contract.
