Emerging trends and role of traditional channels to be explored at Travel Summit

Travel SummitA second stream has been added to the Mumbrella Travel Marketing Summit, with Red Balloon chief executive Nick Baker, Red Planet head of commercial Michelle Sherwood and Carat CEO Simon Ryan all set to take part in the event.

Baker, the former chief marketer at Tourism Australia, and Sherwood will be joined by Mantra Group digital executive director Matt Granfield and JimJam Ideas managing partner John Speers in exploring emerging trends in travel marketing.

This session will be followed by a discussion on traditional marketing channels and what role they still have in a digital world.

Joining Simon Ryan on that panel will be Australia general manager for Tourism New Zealand, Tony Saunders.

Other panellists confirmed for the program include Destination NSW chief executive, Sandra Chipchase, who will join the discussion on the rise of the travel influencer, and Hotels.com regional director of marketing, Katherine Cole.

The addition of the second stream builds on an already strong line-up for the event, which includes Tourism Australia CMO Lisa Ronson, Qantas CMO Stephanie Tully and The Guardian Australia managing director, Ian McClelland.

Earlybird tickets for the event (which sold-out in 2015) are available until this Friday, February 26.

The Mumbrella Travel Marketing Summit will be held at the Amora Hotel Jamison, Sydney, on April 6.
