Travelodge releases ‘Beercations’ content series featuring Tim Charody
Travel TV presenter Tim Charody is at the centre of Travelodge’s new three-part content series ‘Beercations’ , encouraging audiences to book a ‘beercation’ holiday at one of its Traveloge Hotels.
Known also for his The Beer Pilgrim blog, Charody takes beauty pageant winner and beer hater Claire Parker on a beer hunt around Sydney regions including western Sydney and the inner-west, the CBD and the nothern beaches in three five-minute videos.
Created by Trinket Films the content series aims to take viewers on a journey to discover how anyone can love beer if taken to the right brewery, including Parker.
In conjunction with the videos Travelodge has created a separate website where users can read ‘some beer stories’, ‘book a hotel nearby’, watch the episodes and find the breweries on a map.
Rachel Argaman, Travelodge Hotels CEO, said the campaign was designed to capture the attention of new audiences and target a younger demographic.
“We are using beer and story – two of the oldest things known to human civilisation – to bridge perception,” she said. “We start by inspiring people around a topic they like or are interested in learning about, with the aim of capturing their attention beyond what a traditional advertisement or press or online article might have done, then we take them on a journey.
“Beer is the perfect conduit for that – while it is perceived to be basic and to only appeal to a limited demographic, the reality is that beer has a quality, richness and cultural significance but is accessible by all. Just like our hotels,” she said in a statement.
The videos will be promoted on Facebook and various other social channels.
