Tropfest announces mX as official media partner

Tropfest has announced mX as the events official media partner, with mX signing on for three years.

The announcement:

The world’s largest short film festival, Tropfest, and mX have today announced a three year partnership that will see mX become the event’s official media partner.

As media partner, mX will integrate editorial, social and advertising content in its newspapers in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, as well as its interactive iPhone and android app.

mX will also be home to the event’s official guide, feature exclusive interviews with judges, film makers and organisers in the lead up to the event each year and offer its readers access to exclusive event space at the festival.

This is mX’s first foray into a long-term marketing partnership.

mX publisher Tamara Oppen said: “Tropfest is one of the country’s most iconic cultural festivals with a rich history that continually celebrates great Australian stories. With the partnership, we are able to add value to our readers’ experience with special access to the festival, while providing the perfect, creative avenue for Tropfest to reach its target audience.

“The synergies are clear – our readers love films, nights out and spending time with friends. They turn to mX to escape, explore and to be entertained; a similar experience Tropfest gives its thousands of viewers each year.

“The mX brand has matured greatly over the years and we’re proud to be expanding our marketing activites through this partnership with Tropfest as its official media partner.”

Tropfest Managing Director, Michael Laverty said: “We’re incredibly excited to be partnering with mX, a brand that has long championed great Australian stories and promoted Australian cultural events. The mX audience is a Tropfest audience; young, discerning and interested in arts, culture and entertainment, so this new partnership feels like a really natural fit for us”

Tropfest Australia 2014 will be held on December 7 at Centennial Park.
