TV ratings: The Farmer Wants A Bigger Audience

Seven dominated TV viewing yesterday, taking the top four slots and an easy win for the night. According to the preliminary OzTam figures, Seven took 30.9% of free TV viewing; Nine 25.2%; Ten 23%; the ABC 16% and SBS 4.9%.

It was another slow night for Ten, with House the only show in the top ten, and its 90 minute edition of So You Think You Can Dance coming in 15th.

Meanwhile, Nine would have been hoping for a bigger showing for its debut of The Farmer Wants A Wife, which was only just over the million mark. And Seven’s Gangs of Oz, also with an audience of just over a million, might have expected to rate more highly than 13th, although it did win its 9.30pm timeslot.

Top Ten:

  1. Seven News 6:00pm – Seven 1.6m
  2. Seven News 6:30pm – Seven 1.5m
  3. Today Tonight – Seven 1.3m
  4. Australia’s Got Talent – Seven 1.3m
  5. Nine News – Nine 1.3m
  6. Nine News – 6:30pm – Nine 1.2m
  7. Criminal Minds – Seven 1.2m
  8. A Current Affair  – Nine 1.1m
  9. House – Ten 1.1m
  10. The Farmer Wants A Wife – Nine 1.1m

Nine is so far ahead for the week in the ratings, a position it is likely to consolidate with its Australia Unites telethon spectacular this evening.
