TV ratings wrap: FIFA Women’s World Cup a ratings sensation for Seven

The first game of the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia scored more than one million metro viewers on Thursday night, coming out on top in a night packed with sports and entertainment programs.

Despite losing Sam Kerr to a calf injury she suffered at training the day before, the Matildas won its first match against Ireland thanks to a penalty score by Stephanie Catley.
