TV Wrap: Seven wins the week as Nine’s The Summit launches to 401k
Nine’s new reality format The Summit launched on Sunday evening to 401,000 metro viewers, struggling to compete against the first instalment of the finale of Farmer Wants a Wife on Seven.
Farmer Wants a Wife topped entertainment with 668,000 metro viewers, followed by children’s program Bluey, which aired on ABC Kids to 562,000 metro viewers.
Seven Network won the week ended 13 May with a 29.6% overall network share, followed by Nine with 26.8%, Ten with 17.5%, ABC with 16% and SBS with 10.1% – the latter helped largely by the Eurovision contest, which finished on Sunday morning.
The top-rated primary channel of the week was Seven with 21.4%.
Back to overnights, and Seven News on Sunday was the number one metro program on Sunday night with 836,000 viewers, followed by Nine News with 755,000 metro viewers.
Ten’s Masterchef started its second week with 478,000 metro viewers, also managing to top the 16-39 and 18-49 advertising demos.
Meanwhile, ABC’s Grand Designs saw 394,000 metro viewers tune in, and the final of the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest, which aired in the morning on SBS, brought in 202,000 metro viewers on average, boosted to 299,000 for the winner announcement.
Seven (31%) also pipped Nine (27.4%) in overall network share for Sunday, followed by Ten with 16.4%, ABC with 13.7% and SBS with 11.4%.
In the latest Daily Consolidated 7 Total TV report for 7 May, Seven News last Sunday was the #1 program with 1.417 million metro viewers with a 3% uplift, and 39,000 on national BVOD.
The program with the biggest uplift of 40% was Midsomer Murders on ABC with 776,000 million Total TV viewers and 64,000 on national BVOD.
