TV Wrap: The Block and The Voice, who won the tentpole launch face-off?

A blockbuster face-off between Nine’s renovation show, The Block, and Seven’s talent show, The Voice, has produced a pleasing result for free-to-air TV on Sunday night.

Both shows launched to over 700,000 metro viewers. However, it was The Block that had a slight upper hand with 722,000 viewers.

However, The Voice (716,000 metro viewers), alongside the FIFA Women’s World Cup game between Sweden and USA, secured Seven an overnight network win.

According to the latest VOZ report, The Voice launched to 1.166 million total TV viewers, while The Block had 1.124 million. The former had a bigger regional audience but the latter saw more BVOD viewers.

The Block’s launch in 2022 pulled in 867,000 metro viewers, while The Voice premiered to 843,000 metro viewers last year.

The key demos winners were FIFA Women’s World Cup and The Block.
