TV Wrap: The Block tops Sunday entertainment as Nine wins the week

Nine’s The Block was the #1 entertainment program on Sunday night, as the network also celebrated an overall network share win.

The Block brought in a metro audience of 1.1 million, while also winning all key advertising demos, and surpassing Seven News and Nine News in metro viewers.

Ten’s Celebrity MasterChef was next in entertainment, pulling in a metro audience of 573,000, followed by an episode of ABC’s Restoration Australia which had 458,000 metro viewers.

An episode of ABC’s Fires brought in 321,000 metro viewers, while Seven’s Border Security – Australia’s Front Line had a metro audience of 302,000.

The #1 program on Sunday was also The Block which had 1.1 million metro viewers, followed by Seven News which aired to 922,000 while Nine News had 919,000 metro viewers.

As mentioned, Nine won the night, taking an overall network share of 36.4% over Seven’s 22.1%, while Ten had 18.9% and ABC took a 14.7% share.

Nine won the primary channel share while the top-rating multi-channel on Sunday was 9Gem with a share of 3.6%.

Nine also took the week ending 23 October with a network share of 30.6% over Seven’s 25.9%, while Ten had 18.9% and ABC took 16.6%.

Nine also managed to win the primary channel share for the week, with a 21.1% share ahead of Seven’s 18.9%. Nine won 16-39 and 25-54 demos, and multichannel 9Gem won the week with 3.6%.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 17 October, The Block was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.8 million viewers, including 229,000 on BVOD and an uplift of 21%.

The program with the biggest uplift however was an episode of ABC’s Fires which had an 36% uplift on overnight figures and had a total of 742,000 viewers overall.
