Two independent creative agencies next to make job cuts
Startup agency It’s Friday and independent creative shop Paper Moose have both recently made cuts to headcount, Mumbrella can reveal.
It’s Friday has let go of four staff in the aftermath of losing its foundation client Domino’s, the agency confirmed to Mumbrella, though it did not provide any comment.
The agency, founded in 2022 by former Clemenger BBDO Sydney CEO and Leo Burnett CEO, Pete Bosilkovski, has begun its next stage of growth, winning the creative remit for HR and payroll software provider Elmo recently.
The agency also noted it expects to announce another new business win imminently.
Alongside It’s Friday, Paper Moose has also made a number of staff from its creative department redundant, the agency confirmed to Mumbrella.
Again, while the agency did not provide any comment, it’s understood to have made the changes as a result of shifting its priorities in order to align with client needs in recent months.
The past six months have proved difficult for creative agencies, with several sources admitting to Mumbrella growth has proved difficult in the current economic conditions, with hard decisions having to be made as a result.
Last week, Mumbrella reported on cuts being made across Clemenger Group agencies Clemenger BBDO Australia and CHEP Network, joining agencies including Ogilvy, M&C Saatchi, Cummins&Partners, AJF Partnership, and The Royals having done so.
