Uber offers customers the chance to ‘ride like a president’ for free with Ubercade
Uber is offering its Brisbane customers the chance to “ride like a president” today with “Ubercade” a stunt tied into the G20 Summit which sees Uber provide a line up of three black vehicles escorting a customer.
Ubercade will provide customers with two SUVs with their very own “Uber Secret Service Agents” free of charge from 10am to 4pm today.
Users are warned that Ubercade is not designed to rush people to an important meeting, and if you need to travel from point A to point B to book an UberX.
The Ubercade will also avoid Brisbane Metro including all G20 exclusion zones and high traffic areas.
Will Mumbrella see through Uber publicity stunts? This is just Uber advertising.

Hi john,
We’re an industry website that writes about advertising and marketing. Most of the posts on here are about adverts and PR stunts.
Cheers,
Alex – editor, Mumbrella
Thanks for the reply – you guys are best when you comment on PR stunts and adverts – not just promote them.

Spin it any way you want. UberX is illegal in QLD and Mumbrella is assisting an illegal activity You may not like the fact that it’s illegal but that’s not your call. It is unethical and irresponsible to promote anything the State Govt has deemed a risk to public safety. You’ve even linked to their website.

Haha. Nice trolling from Lyall Mercer of Mercer PR who consistently posts anti uber tweets and promotes the taxi industry.
Spin it any way you want. Uber is a better service that customers want to use, unlike the taxi industry you’re trying to defend.

Oh Lyall. Stop living in the past.
The sharing economy is well and truly alive!

Where did these trolls come from? Is Uber really illegal in Queensland? Or are fat cat taxi owners bricking themselves?
Uber drivers are generally polite, know where they are going, their cars are clean and the experience is pleasant.
I got in a taxi yesterday morning from Melb Airport, to the city. The cab was from the rank. The taxi driver could have done with having a shower (I had to open the window). The seats were ripped. The driver tail gated the car in front and the overall the experience was awful.
Uber please.

p.s. I think it is a great ‘stunt’. Definitely creative and something that will get the brand talked about…. (I have nothing to do with Uber nor this campaign…)

What do Uber think of the fact that I got Virgin to Ditch Uber?
Twitter @arrestinguber
The Virgin flyer with them giving Uber two fingers is a great PR coup against the giant… Uber
Quite simply – Uber is NOT against the law!

seems like the word sharing has completely lost it meaning to the people now a days what these companies beat in to you brain day in and day out is not “sharing” its providing a commercial service at cut throat prices by flaunting the law and ignoring the regulations. How is it sharing when you are charging another person for the privilege? Should i start “sharing” the home brew that i can churn out ? i am sure i be in jail if did that, but get billions of dollars in backing a lot of PR and lobbying involved and you can get away with anything. Pathetic really.

Congrats to all UBER drivers in Sydney… The service has been excellent !!
Friends and I from all different areas have used UBER for the last three weekends straight and not only were the driver classic and FUNNY but the cars and overall were fantastic !!
We are pushing it to our parents and relatives as well. Both my GF’s parents and mine had their first go just yesterday and they loved it. My mother said she was so surprised when the seat in the back wasn’t vinyl/plastic and she was not sliding around on the sit while getting in and out and she highlighted “leather and carpet” … hahaha .. something she hasn’t seen in a cab ….er ever !!
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GUYS .. ALL MY MEDIA CONTACTS KNOW UBER !
