The announcement:

UBET RELEASES LIMITED EDITION LUCKY UNDIES FOR SPRING RACING

Wearable lucky charms for those looking to get lucky on the ponies this year

Australian-owned betting operator UBET has released an exclusive range of ‘lucky undies’ just in time for the Spring Carnival’s biggest races. The exclusive range has been designed to give racing enthusiasts a wearable lucky charm, with all proceeds going to the National Jockeys Trust.

Featuring an instantly recognisable horseshoe symbol, UBET’s lucky undies are designed to wear under (or over) any Spring Racing outfit, silks, lycra or jodhpurs.  Leading race bodies around the country as well as current jockeys have already jumped behind the cause and are encouraging others to do the same.

Race-calling legend and UBET ambassador, Johnny Tapp said the lucky undies are a great way of raising awareness of the unspoken side of racing.

“The National Jockey’s Trust does amazing work to support jockeys and their families in times of need and what better time to highlight that work than during the Spring Carnival?” he said. “I’m looking forward to seeing many jockeys and punters sport their undies and unite over such a great cause.”

“Over the years I’ve heard of every superstition under the sun – from lucky numbers and colours to lucky seats at the racetrack – and lucky undies are one of the more common ones.”

UBET Chief Operating Officer Brendan Parnell said the jockeys play a huge role in delivering the racing product every day and UBET was proud to be supporting the Jockeys Trust through the quirky campaign.

“While UBET is only 2 and a half years old, our association with the racing industry dates back 55 years, and we are passionate about being able to give back to charities, especially those linked so closely to what we do like the National Jockeys Trust,” he said. “We hope Australian punters will join in by donning their own pair of UBET lucky undies so we can give back to jockeys and their families.”

UBET partnered with aptly named underwear brand, Jockey to create the range and the betting operator is looking forward to injecting a bit of fun, with a tongue in cheek fashion statement across select racecourses in Australia this year.

“We are expecting the range to be very popular with men and women thanks to its fun and eye-catching design,” Parnell added.

Chairman of the National Jockeys Trust, Paul Innes said the support of UBET will go a long way in helping jockeys and their families. “The concept behind the generous donation is a fantastic initiative and one that will make a big difference to the work that we do. It is extremely humbling to know that race enthusiasts across the country will be wearing their UBET lucky undies in support of our cause,” he said.

UBET’s lucky undies are available for guys and girls in a variety of sizes atwww.ubetluckyundies.com for $10.00, with all money raised going to the National Jockeys Trust.  Share images wearing your lucky undies using #ubetluckyundies
