Haddad is succeeding the Pat Lim in the top job at the media agency. Lim has led IPG Mediabrands Singapore for the past five years, having joined from PHD in 2011.

He is the second senior UM Sydney exec to make the jump to Asia in a week, following Matt Scotton, who moved to Singapore as head strategist for the region.

Ross Raeburn, CEO of UM Australia, said the agency “will consider the Sydney GM role as part of our 2017 plans”.

He added: “We have discussed this move with Dave for quite some time. We are very enthusiastic about his ascendency to the Mediabrands’ Singapore leadership role as he is a highly respected, popular client and agency-team leader.”

Hadded brings 11 years of media experience to the role, having started his career at Mediacom and also worked at the now defunct Bellamyhayden.

He has also been part of the teams which have landed the Optus, Lion and Tourism Australia accounts for the agency this year.

He said in a statement:  “The opportunity to lead the Singapore business is the highlight of my career. I am delighted to be taking the new role and very keen to meet our clients, agency teams and media partners.

“To live in Singapore and be part of the continually-surging Asia consumer and business environment is truly exciting.”

Meanwhile, Reg Davidson, the former finance chief for Mediabrands Australia and recently appointed regional CFO of IPG Mediabrands has moved from Sydney to Singapore.

Former Mediabrands Australia chairman, Henry Tajer, has raided Australia to fill a number of senior positions with talent from Mediabrands and its rivals, since taking the global CEO job last year.

One of the most high profile is former Omnicom Media Group Australia boss, Leigh Terry, is soon to start as regional CEO of IPG Mediabrands based in Sydney.
