Underbelly Razor to debut on The Block’s finale night

Nine is to launch its long awaited fourth series of Underbelly in a fortnight’s time, the network’s head of programming Andrew Backwell has revealed.

In an interview with The Sunday Telegraph, Backwell said Underbelly Razor would premiere with a two hour episode on Sunday August 21, the same night as the final of Nine’s renovation contest The Block.

Backwell told the Tele: “It will be the highest rating night of television on Channel Nine this year.”

Although Nine was trounced by Seven  in the first half of the 2011 ratings seasons, recent weeks have seen it close the gap.

The first series of Underbelly went to air in February 2008. It rated strongly, as did sequels Underbelly A Tale of Two Cities and Underbelly The Golden Mile. However, spin-off telemovies Tell Them Lucifer Was Here, Infiltration and The Man Who Got Away fared less well.
