Undertow Media to handle PR for retail giant Costco

CostCo logoMelbourne PR agency Undertow Media is to handle the launch of one of the biggest challenges yet to Australia’s established supermarket brands.  

Costco, which launches its first Australian store in Melbourne next month, is one of America’s biggest discount retailers, operating on a membership model. A Sydney opening is also planned.

Costco’s low cost operation runs on word of mouth and PR, and there are no plans to appoint an above the line or media agency.

Undertow will handle press office services for the company, along with running a launch event and press conference.

The agency’s other clients include Grill’d, Go Natural, Stockland, Toyota, BP, Chadstone Shopping Centre, Mirvac, Mount Hotham, Ocean Spray, Origin and Tupperware
