Unilever shifts Continental brand from DDB to Lowe
Unilever has shifted advertising duties for its Continental brand from DDB to Lowe as part of a regional realignment of Knorr, the global brand name for Continental.
The move brings to an end an eight-year relationship between Continental and DDB.
Stephen Pearson, chief executive of Lowe, said: “Lowe handles Knorr in a number of markets, and Unilever likes to keep things tidy. But we still had to prove that we had the capabilities to handle the business, which we certainly did.”
Pearson would not comment on the size of the business. But he noted that Continental was a significant spender with brands such as Cup-a-Soup and Chicken Tonight.
The Lowe network has handled Knorr globally since 2008.
DDB continues to handle Unilever’s Lipton and Lipton Ice Tea brands.
Tim, I think ‘Lowe Hunt’ ceased to exist about 4 years ago.
Since then, they have been Lowe Draft, Lowe Rivet and I believe are now Lowe Worldwide.
