UnLtd recruits industry leaders to have 19 conversations over 19 days

As part of what’s being dubbed the ‘COLIV19’ campaign, industry leaders from 19 companies will have 19 conversations over 19 days in an effort to support colleagues, family, and friends during “the era of COVID-19 and beyond”.

Created by Gotcha 4 Life, the initiative builds on a consumer campaign that has received support from the likes of actor Hugh Jackman, former footballer Mark Geyer, Sydney FC player Ally Green, and NRL players James Tedesco and Jake Trbojevic.

The industry leaders taking part in the campaign include:

  • Aimee Buchanan (OMD CEO);
  • Brendon Cook (Ooh Media CEO);
  • Dan Stinton (The Guardian managing director);
  • Ellie Rogers (Facebook head of agency sales AU);
  • Guy Burbidge (Val Morgan Cinema managing director);
  • Kurt Burnette (Seven chief revenue officer);
  • Lou Barrett (News Corp national sales managing director);
  • Mark Coad (IPG Mediabrands CEO);
  • Mark Frain (Foxtel Media CEO);
  • Mark Jarrett (PHD CEO);
  • Mark Lollback (Group M CEO);

  • Richard Hunwick (Nine director of sales, TV);

  • Sue Squillace (Carat CEO).

“There’s no doubt the pandemic has had a major impact on the financial, emotional, physical and mental wellbeing of our industry,” UnLtd CEO Chris Freel said.

“We are now nearly two months into the lock-down and a lot of the initial novelty has started to wear off and reality is starting to kick in. It’s so important that we stay connected and check in with people who may need support, even if and when the restrictions are relaxed.

“We’re overwhelmed by the support we’ve received from the senior leaders across the industry and we hope that their involvement in the campaign will encourage others to take part and check in with people you care about. Call them. Skype them. Message them. Write them a letter. Or send them a gift with a note. Just reconnect with them in some meaningful way.”

The industry leaders will share their progress on social media, with OMD’s Aimee Buchanan adding she’s looking forward to connecting with those around her.

Buchanan is excited to be part of the campaign

“This is such an important initiative and reminder of how important it is to stay connected through this challenging time,” Buchanan said.

“Sometimes, a simple call from a friend is all that is needed to put things into perspective and bring a smile on your face. I’m looking forward to sharing some laughs and meaningful conversations over the next 19 days with friends and colleagues.”
