Unltd’s MOOD Tea launches new ‘Jolly Good’ flavour

MOOD Tea has launched a new ‘Jolly Good’ flavour, with 100% of the profits going towards funding programs to help battle youth mental health.

The announcement:

A new Jolly Good tea has landed on Woolworths shelves across the country, designed to boost morning moods and to raise funds for youth mental health. The English Breakfast brew comes from social enterprise MOOD tea, with 100% of the profits going towards funding programs to help fight the leading cause of death for young Australians, suicide.

The premium black tea blend, sourced from the Daintree region in Queensland, is full of amino acids to put a pep in every sipper’s step and help them start the day in a jolly good way.

Since launching in 2021, MOOD Tea has reached almost 800 young people and funded four youth mental health programs through batyr and The Sebastian Foundation.

Chris Freel, CEO of UnLtd & MOOD, says the tea allows drinkers to enjoy a delicious cuppa whilst simultaneously helping to fund programs for young Australians, giving them the tools and skills they need to better manage their mental health.

“MOOD tea gives people an easy way to support youth mental health programs whilst also allowing them to sip on a delicious premium brew. Our newest English Breakfast blend has been sourced locally from the Daintree Region in QLD, so we are excited for the opportunity to also help fund local suppliers” says Freel.

“For each box of MOOD tea purchased, more young lives will benefit from the programs we fund via our incredible charity partners.”

Nic Brown, CEO of batyr, says the programs funded by MOOD tea aim to educate students about the support networks and services available to them, empowering them to reach out for help when needed and support each other through tough times.

“It’s incredibly important that we focus on prevention and early intervention when it comes to youth mental health. Providing young people with the tools they need to proactively identify signs and symptoms of mental ill-health in themselves, and others is crucial; as well as teaching them the skills to support each other and take charge of their mental health before reaching crisis point,” says Brown.

The funding provided through MOOD helps us to build young people’s mental health knowledge and resilience at an early age. Our goal is to implement batyr programs in as many schools as possible across the country, a goal we wouldn’t be able to achieve without the support of MOOD tea.

Available now, the ‘Jolly Good’ Premium English Breakfast tea will join MOOD’s four other blends – ‘Happy Days’, ‘Get On Up’, ‘Be Kind, Unwind’ and ‘Sweet Lullaby’. MOOD tea bags are home compostable and biodegradable.

Available for purchase directly from the MOOD tea website, and Woolworths stores nationally. Currently retailing at $5.50 at all Woolworths stores.
