The Urban List appoints Tamara Pannett as head of sales

Former News Corp Australia group sales manager, Tamara Pannett, has joined The Urban List as head of sales.

The announcement:

Australia and New Zealand’s local lifestyle guide, The Urban List, today announced the appointment of former News Corp Australia Group Sales Manager, Tamara Pannett, to the position of Head of Sales.

The appointment follows last week’s news of the appointment of Damien Rossi, also previously with News Corp Australia, as General Manager; a newly created position at The Urban List.

In a 12-year career in the advertising industry, Tamara has held key roles as Group Sales  Manager and National Sales Operations Manager at News Corp, and Victorian Sales Director at Kidspot Pty Ltd. She has a proven track record in building high-performance sales teams and directly driving revenue growth across print, digital and experiential platforms.

Pannett states, “I couldn’t be more excited to join The Urban List – particularly at such a transformative time in the Australian media industry. Having competed against The Urban

List while at News, I’ve always been inspired by the company’s unique and exciting approach to digital content, and am thrilled to be charged with leading our commercial growth and expanding our suite of customer solutions”.

Founder and CEO, Susannah George, expressed her enthusiasm for Pannett’s hire.

“With the addition of Tamara to our executive team, along with Damien Rossi as GM last week, we are setting up for long-term growth – really investing in the team and the products our customers need to succeed. Having built the trust of the largest millennial audience of any local lifestyle guide, we’re now focused on bolstering our offerings – both on and offline; providing industry-leading, collaborative solutions for brands seeking aspiration, access and action.”

Pannett will report to General Manager, Damien Rossi, and her appointment is the second major staffing announcement at The Urban List in as many weeks.

Since launching in 2011, The Urban List has expanded to provide localised content to audiences across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Auckland. The site has seen audience growth of almost 200% in the last 18 months.
