US journalist Hanna Rosin locked in for Women in Media 2025 conference

US journalism icon Hanna Rosin has joined the Women in Media 2025 National Conference line up.

The announcement:

One of the most distinctive voices in American journalism, Hanna Rosin, will headline the 2025 Women in Media National Conference at ICC Sydney on Friday, 15 August.

Currently Senior Editor at The Atlantic and host of Radio Atlantic, Rosin is renowned for her groundbreaking work exploring gender, power and politics. She is best known to many as co-host of NPR’s pioneering podcast Invisibilia, and as author of the international bestseller The End of Men: and The Rise of Women – the landmark 2012 book that examined women’s growing influence across education, work and society.

Now more than a decade on, Rosin brings a sharp and timely lens to what many see as a global reversal – a swing of the political pendulum that is reshaping gender dynamics and reigniting debate over who holds power.

Her latest podcast, We Live Here Now, is an intimate portrait of post-insurrection America. The series follows Rosin and her partner Lauren Ober as they settle into a new community in Virginia – home to neighbours like Micki Witthoeft, mother of Ashli Babbitt, the woman shot and killed by police during the January 6 Capitol riot.

Through deeply human storytelling, Rosin examines the personal and political fault lines dividing the United States – and what it means to live side by side with people whose values may stand in stark opposition.

Women in Media General Manager Kym Middleton said Rosin’s voice was more important than ever.

“At a time when public debate is increasingly polarised and women’s rights are being challenged around the world, Hanna is bringing sharp insight, intellect, and global perspective to Australian audiences,” Middleton said.
