ViacomCBS becomes sales representative for Foxtel’s new music brands

ViacomCBS will be the sales representative for Foxtel’s new suite of music brands, including MTV Hits, Club MTV, MTV Classic and CMT (Country Music Channel).

MTV already sits under the ViacomCBS umbrella. It was announced earlier this year that Foxtel would be doing away with local music channels in favour of the expanded international syndicated offering.

The new channels will be live from July 1 on Foxtel. ViacomCBS and Network Ten chief sales officer Rod Prosser said the new channels would be an exciting opportunity for the team.

“This is really exciting for us. The addition of the new music channels to our already premium line-up of brands and shows further strengthens our under 50s proposition, while also expanding our offering into the music genre.

“Our brand offering is unrivalled in market with a sharp focus on the demographics who are young at heart and highly-engaged. The opportunities across our portfolio are endless.”

ViacomCBS and Ten merged sales teams earlier this year. The combined unit has since announced several developments, including the launch of full-service marketing business Effect and a restructure which saw Melbourne sales director Damon Jackson exit. Ten’s CEO Paul Anderson also left during the ViacomCBS merger. The business ended its relationship with Foxtel’s sales arm Foxtel Media four months ago, merging the Ten and ViacomCBS sales teams.
