Vida Scott appointed as Ten’s head of communications
Network Ten has announced the appointment of Vida Scott as its head of communications. Scott was previously a senior communications manager at Westpac Group, a role which she held for just over a year.
Prior to her role at Westpac, Vida held roles at HT&E and a corporate affairs position at News Corp.
In Scott’s new role she will be responsible for the company’s external corporate communications, internal communications, and trade marketing, and will report to Ten’s chief operating officer, Annabelle Herd.
Herd said: “I am delighted to welcome Vida to the Ten team. With her experience across a range of corporate affairs and communications roles, and her obvious passion for television and media, Vida will be a strong asset to the business.”
Scott began her career at Red Agency in 2006, working with various media industry clients including Fairfax.
“It’s a great time to be joining Network Ten,” said Scott. “The media industry plays an important role for all Australians and Ten is a key part of that landscape. There are a lot of exciting things happening at the company and I’m looking forward to working with the team to shape Ten’s future.”
The role opened up after Ten’s director of corporate and public communications Neil Shoebridge resigned and subsequently started his communications agency alongside Ten’s former corporate communications executive, Andrew Knowles.
Shoebridge was in the role for six years before his departure earlier this year.
