Video hangout with Cannes Young Lions winners and judges

Mumbrella held a hangout with some of the winners, judges and sponsors of this year’s Cannes Young Lions competition which were announced in Thursday night.

The competition pits young marketeers in categories of film, print, digital, media and marketing, with the winners getting a trip to the Cannes Lions festival in the south of France in mid-June.

Winners of the media category John Dawson and Jason Maggs of Mindshare Sydney and print winners Millicent Malcolm and Zenon Predecki of JWT Melbourne share their excitement about winning the competition, their thoughts on the industry and what they are looking forward to in the south of France.

We are also joined by Mat Baxter, CEO of media agency UM, Ed Smith group sales and marketing director for Foxtel talk about the judging process, the state of young talent in the industry and to dispense some top survival tips for the Lions festival.The other winners names this evening were Laura Petrucelli and Rohan Cooke from Grey Mebourne in digital, Carl Robertson and Tristan Viney from GPY&R Brisbane in film and Laura Jenkins from Foxtel an Pippa Kulmar of Retail Oasis as the marketing winners.

They will compete in Cannes against competitors from across the world in the same disciplines, as well as have access to the talks, seminars and parties.

Runners up in the print and media categories Cam McMillan and Adam Slater of BWM Melbourne and Nelson Demartini and Hannah MacAuslane of UM Brisbane win a trip to Spikes Asia to compete in the equivalent competition there.
