Victoria’s state tourism, business and events agency, Visit Victoria, has seen its communications and media manager, Emma Watts, depart after three years in the role.
Posting to LinkedIn, Watts said she was “leaving to take a risk” and “explore the world of freelancing and small business”.

Watts joined Visit Victoria in October 2014 and took on the role to “develop and implement the organisation’s destination communications and consumer public relation functions”.

Before joining Visit Victoria, Watts was the head of marketing and communications at Wesley Mission Victoria before the role was made redundant one year later.
Watts has also spent time at businesses including RSPCA, Museum Victoria, Holden and AAMI.
In September Visit Victoria made a series of hires in the communications department employing Matt Cugley as its head of strategic communications, Cody Lynch as a communications and media manager of major events and Chelsea Collins as a communications and media executive.
Visit Victoria recently launched its first campaign in six years with Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, aimed at promoting the different ‘personas’ and activities of Melbourne.
Watts made no further comment about her departure to Mumbrella.
