Vitek Vodka: distilled by peasants, drunk by royalty
JayGrey has launched a campaign for Vitek Vodka that relaunches the brand as ‘distilled by peasants, drunk by royalty’, the premise being that the drinks company should stick to what it’s good at.
“We also think that clients get the ads that they deserve. It is great that Vitek has stuck to what he’s good at – buying good ads and making vodka!” said Jay Furby, JayGrey’s creative director.
The campaign includes label design, TV, print, point-of-sale and radio. Digital is to follow.
“Digital to follow”…. what a shame, they could have done amazing things leading with digital.

The peasants/royalty line has nothing to do with the rest of the campaign – which is pretty predictable and quite average anyway.
The old “stick to what we know best” angle…

Pretty puerile first thoughts here. But the client got what he paid for.

Spectacularly unfunny.

Seems like another one of those ads lost in translation from the pitch to the execution. The idea sounds good but that TV ad is so predictable and unfunny and lame.

in trying to be clever the idea misses the mark – the fact that Poles fail at Bonsai, taxidermy, being vets, parkour does not mean they are good at making Vodka, yet this seems to the comms objective

Should’ve tied in the Euros & make competition vs the Russian-vodka makers – instead of mocking the citizens of Poland.

THESE ARE GOOD ADS…I LIKE EM…I SAW THEM IN SITU AND THEY MADE ME SMILE AND LIKE THE BRAND….ADVERTISING ANYONE???…I THINK THEY WILL DO WELL. EVERYONE OVER THINKS EVERYTHING…WHY…???…AND WHAT IS PREDICTABLE ABOUT A MAN BEING BAD AT PARKOUR? I AM LOST FOR WORDS AT THE PSEUDO INTELLECTUALISATION OF SOMETHING ADVERTISING AN ALCOHOL BRAND. ITS FUN AND MEMORABLE WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO ACHIEVE. DULLARDS.
