Vivid Sydney opens pitch for PR agencies with a ‘creative edge’

Vivid, Sydney’s festival of light, music and ideas, is calling on PR agencies with a “creative edge” to pitch for its 2019 festival.

The pitch encourages agencies to apply if they can deliver a “strategic, fast-paced, content driven and results oriented communications campaign”.

Red Agency has handled Vivid’s PR account for the last two years.

Last year, the agency helped Vivid Sydney secure $75.509m in media coverage. The estimated budget given to the 2016 and 2017 PR campaign was $150,000.

Destination NSW issued a statement which said: “Vivid Sydney requires a PR agency that will assist in driving additional maximum positive earned media coverage and build intention amongst consumers to visit the world-renowned event.”

The proposal states: “Vivid Sydney’s key communications objective is to drive maximum positive earned media coverage for Vivid Sydney to build intention to visit. Media coverage should appear in national, intrastate, interstate, regional and local outlets around Australia.

“Globally Vivid Sydney also delivers extensive media coverage. Whilst international coverage is not a focus of this brief (Destination NSW has PR agencies in various international markets and has an extensive media hosting program), coverage achieved nationally should be positioned to syndicate internationally where appropriate.”

Proposals are due on Monday November 26 at 9am. The 2019 brief is available to be downloaded here.
