VMG grows with launch of digital performance agency Sillyfish

Independent Australian media company Venetian Media Group (VMG) has launched its digital performance agency, Sillyfish, which will be led by Dany Coutinho and Rob Manning.

Sillyfish is now the seventh brand in the VMG ecosystem, after it added Aspire Talent Group earlier in March. The new agency is set to bring a unique offering with an ROI-based strategy to SEO, SEM and eCommerce, delivering the highest level of transparency possible for clients.

Dany Coutinho, formerly of Carat, Mediacom and GroupM, will be the head of operations for the brand. Ex global head of digital for AdStream, Rob Manning, joins as director of growth and business development.

Sillyfish will be based out VMG’s existing office on Sydne and Melbourne, and has already completed work for several VMG clients. VMG is adding several new members to its team within the Sillyfish business during March.

VMG chief executive Michael Fishwick said the new agency would fill a gap. “Sillyfish was born out of a gap in the market for a transparent digital agency that is results-based.

“We know our clients work with us across our network because of our honest and accountable approach to their marketing and business objectives and Sillyfish will be no different.”

Sillyfish’s addition to the VMG adds to a network that includes creative services, digital marketing, talent management, media buying and strategy.

Coutinho said Sillyfish’s is about delivering real, “quantifiable results” for clients, not just clicks and leads.

“Unlike other digital performance agencies, Sillyfish’s unique market offering will deliver the highest level of transparency for our clients in regard to how they stack up online.

“This measurement goes beyond the traditional search optics but drills into the effectiveness of campaigns to show true ROI in market.”

VMG also owns creative agency Yakkazoo, bespoke and Out-of-Home media provider Revolution360, full-service media planning and buying agency Frontier Media, Captive Vision Outdoor (CVO) and VIM.
