Vodafone boosts PR team with three new staff members

Ged Mansour, Kate Spencer and Sophie Cotterill have joined Vodafone as part of its public relations team following recent promotions and a departure.

Mansour joined the agency as head of consumer media relations following eight-month stint as the group communications director at Amaysim Australia.

Mansour is replacing Michelle Quint who was promoted to the head of fixed communications at Vodafone where she will be leading the integrated communications strategy for the company’s NBN services.

Quint was the head of consumer media relations for over three years.

Kate Spencer joins Vodafone as a PR manager after spending a-year-and-a-half at Telstra as a senior communications advisor.

Spencer steps into the PR manager role following Harry Tucker’s promotion to a content analyst at the telco.

Previously a PR specialist at Oracle for just two months, Sophie Cotterill has also been appointed as a Vodafone PR manager.

Cotterill has also worked at Optus as a corporate affairs advisor.

In a statement to Mumbrella, Anthony Flannery, Vodafone’s general manager of external affairs, said: “Our Consumer Affairs team is one of the strongest teams in the industry. It is supporting our sales, enterprise, marketing and technology operations as well as our Foundation and staff initiatives.

“Ged, Kate and Sophie have great knowledge and experience of the telecommunications industry and are doing an outstanding job telling the story of Vodafone’s success as a challenger promoting innovation, choice, value and freedom for our customers.”

Vodafone’s content producer, Aimee Chanthadavong, departed the business earlier in the year to return to journalism and is now working at InnovationAus.com.
