Vodafone launches new ‘Meet Red’ online campaign
Telco Vodafone has launched a new online campaign, promoting the benefits of its new ‘infinite’ Red mobile package.
The ad is fronted by a Vodafone staff member Andrew and talks about the benefits of ‘Red’ citing firetrucks, apples, fast cars and the new Vodafone mobile plan.
“The purpose of the video was to explain the benefits of Vodafone Red to our team and customers via a very popular format – video – while also showcasing a member of our wonderful retail team as the talent,” said a Vodafone spokeswoman.
The commercial, which will be used only online, not only talks about it’s ‘infinite’ plans but also takes aim at rivals Telstra and Optus, by promoting Vodafone’s Australian call centre, located in “sunny Tasmania”, and also its data rates which is charged per kilobyte.
“This is a standalone piece of video content to support the launch of our new Vodafone Red plans and SIMs last week. We’ll be distributing the video via social channels and directly to customers via eDM,” said the spokeswoman.
The ‘Meet Red’ commercial comes weeks after Virgin Mobile rebranded and launched its ‘irresistible’ campaign. Vodafone said there was not deliberate similarly between the two offerings.
