Today, News Magazines unveils Vogue Australia’s first-ever iPad application, developed in partnership with Belvedere Vodka.

A team of writers, editors and fashion stylists from Vogue Australia travelled to Botswana, Africa to create video footage, sound bites, integrated advertising content, panoramic visuals, fashion shoots and behind-the-scenes interviews with Australian actress Isabel Lucas.

This footage has now been compiled into a bespoke “content bundle”, designed in partnership with Belvedere Vodka specifically for the iPad.

“Vogue Australia continues to set the benchmark in Australian fashion by launching an iPad app that contains all the fashion and informed writing that Vogue Australia is renowned for, coupled with exclusive content,” said Mark Kelly, group publisher, lifestyle at News Magazines.

“News Magazines is leading the market when it comes to creating bespoke content and commercial content for digital formats. Vogue Australia’s iPad app features interactive advertising campaigns for Belvedere Vodka, developed in-house by News Magazines’ experienced digital content team,” said Mr Kelly.

News Magazines invited audiences to pre-register for the Vogue Australia iPad app via Vogue.com.au. Thanks to Belvedere Vodka, the Vogue Australia iPad app will be available to download free-of-charge from today via the App Store (2 November 2011).

“Belvedere Vodka was privileged to partner with Vogue Australia on developing this market leading digital innovation. The newly released (BELVEDERE) RED Special Edition bottle invites consumers to believe in giving over the upcoming festive period, and the bespoke digital content created by News Magazines’ digital team allows us to raise awareness of this incredible initiative,” said Sarah Bentley, Marketing Manager at Veuve Clicquot, Belvedere Vodka & Ruinart.

News Magazines worked closely with Belvedere Vodka to develop the app and raise awareness of The Global Fund, the world’s leading financier of programs to fight AIDS in Africa, which is proudly supported by Belvedere Vodka. Belvedere Vodka hopes to raise over AUD$1 million globally for The Global Fund by donating 50 per cent of all sales proceeds from its (BELVEDERE) RED Limited Edition Bottle.

The Vogue Australia app features three interactive advertisements from Belvedere, including video hotspots created by News Magazines’ commercial content team. It is the first of three content bundles that Vogue Australia will develop in partnership with commercial partners over the next 12 months.

“Far from being a replica of the printed magazine, the Vogue Australia iPad app will engage our audience with exclusive multimedia content and behind-the-scenes glimpses of a world of fashion and beauty that only Vogue can access,” said Kirstie Clements, editor-in-chief of Vogue Australia.

The app is the fourth iPad app to launch from News Magazines. It builds on the success of the Super Food Ideas iPad app, MasterChef Magazine iPad app, and the donna hay iPad app, which became the #1 downloaded app in the App Store within one day of launching on 5 October.

“News Magazines is now delivering its mastheads to audiences wherever and whenever they demand them in line with its goal of being Australia’s leading publisher of lifestyle vertical brands,” said Zara Curtis, commercial director at News Magazines.

The Vogue Australia iPad app is the first iPad application to launch within News Magazines’ lifestyle group.
