Volkswagen shines a light on the moments in life that only happen to its drivers in latest series of ads

In a new series of ads Volkswagen has highlighted the unique and obscure moments with family and friends that its cars are present for.

The latest ad for the Amarok V6 Canyon shows two men in the Volkswagen ute offering to help another man whose car is bogged in mud, despite the latter’s insistence he is just parked there.

Volkswagen commercial vehicles marketing manager, Nick Reid, said: “When you’re off-roading and something goes wrong, you feel like a right idiot – especially when your mates find out. The Amarok spot demonstrates that whatever you get into, the Amarok V6 Canyon gives you the power to get out of.”

Another recent ad in the series is for the Golf model, which shows a father making twists and turns with the vehicle preventing his daughter from eating an ice cream in the back seat.

DDB Sydney chief creative officer, Ben Welsh, said he’s proud of the work because it’s inherently human.

“The best Volkswagen ads always are. We’ve married human insights with Volkswagen models to create some charming stories.” he said.

Earlier ads in the series, which went to air in July, show a young man picking up his drunk parents from a toga party in a Tiguan, and a boy admitting to his father that he doesn’t like footy whilst sitting in their Polo.

The campaign is running across TV, digital, social, OOH and through VW’s partnership with The Block.
