Australian Volkswagen accounts under review in global roster revamp

German car manufacturer Volkswagen is reviewing its global creative agency roster, including the Australian market.

Volkswagen’s current creative agency of record in Australia is DDB Sydney.

A spokesperson from Volkswagen confirmed the global “initiative”, adding Australia will be included in the review.

“We will be making a statement about this exciting new direction for the company in time, but suffice to say that we enjoy an extremely fruitful relationship with DDB and PhD, and we look forward to our continued association.”

A DDB spokesperson said the agency has a “close working relationship” with the car manufacturer and looks forward to continuing to strengthen its partnership with the brand.

“DDB has a very close working relationship with Volkswagen both in Australia and globally. Any potential agency review would be an opportunity for us to strengthen our role as a worldwide partner for this amazing brand.”

Earlier this month DDB Sydney launched a new ad for the brand which used technology to resolve an argument between a couple.

The ad used the slogan “more than just a car”.
