Wade James returns to Ooh Media
Sales boss Wade James has announced his return to Ooh Media, taking on the group sales director role left vacant by Chris Freel earlier in the year.
James previously spent a decade at Ooh, having joined in 2014 as group account director. He worked his way up the ranks to eventually become national head of agency sales, a role he left in February last year.
Over the past year and a half, he has been working sales contracts and project, as well as offering consulting services. During this time, he held a contract role at Australian Traffic Network. He has also held senior roles at APN Outdoor, DMG Radio, and he is also a Melbourne board member for Unltd.

He is widely respected across the industry for his deep media sales experience. At Ooh, he will “further accelerate customer focus” and drive deeper agency and client partnerships.
“I’m thrilled and incredibly excited to be returning to oOh! at such a pivotal time for the OOH sector. In a period where the channel is seeing outstanding growth, the amazing opportunity to rejoin a team that is passionate about driving meaningful results for clients, is something that I’m really looking forward to,” he said in a release on Friday.
James takes on the position left vacant by Chris Freel earlier this year. Freel left Ooh Media after only a year in the role to join programmatic company MiQ as its new chief revenue officer.
James will work closely with the company’s national sales leaders, according to Ooh.
“We’ve built a clear strategic direction to ensure we create value for our customers, backed by market-leading products and a highly engaged team. Having someone of Wade’s calibre and deep understanding of Out of Home media return to oOh! is a huge asset,” Ooh chief revenue officer Mark Fairhurst said in the press release.
“He brings proven leadership, trusted agency and client relationships, and a strong alignment with our customer-first approach.”
His appointment is effective July 15.
