‘We aren’t from the west, we are the west’ claims Western Sydney Wanderers’ ad

The Western Sydney Wanderers have told Sydneysiders “we aren’t from the west, we are the west” in its Hyundai A-League 2018/19 campaign.

Created in conjunction with production company Chisel, the ad features fans watching the soccer at home and at the game while also incorporating women, men and disabled fans playing the game.


The ad aims to act as a call to arms and remind people that the Wanderers are more than a soccer club.

The campaign is airing across Foxtel channels and premieres this Sunday.

Wanderers CEO, John Tsatsimas, said in a statement: “The Wanderers family is about all those attached to the club – the fans, the members, the volunteers, our players and staff.

“We are the west echoes the sentiment that is in our community – while we come from all walks of life, all backgrounds and cultures, together we represent a growing, diverse and incredible part of Australia – Western Sydney.

“The club has never shied away from our responsibility to our people, our community and the football culture that exists in Western Sydney. The next 12 months is a hugely exciting time for this club and this region and we want our members, fans and new supporters to feel this excitement just as keenly as we do.”
