We can be heroes

Who didn’t love collecting cards when they were younger? NRL, NBA, those Batman cards with the special edition gold and silver foil that your “friends” would never swap with you.

Dr Mumbo remembers them well, and was excited to find out there is now a marketing version to start collecting. Well, in a sense.

Bakery Agency in the US has created an NFT card collection with some of the biggest names in marketing from that side of the world. What’s an NFT, you ask? A good question.

Non-Fungible Token obviously. That is (Dr Mumbo copied and pasted this) a unit of data on a digital ledger called a blockchain, where each NFT can represent a unique digital item, and thus they are not interchangeable.

The card collection is called Brandia and according to the LinkedIn post: “All Brandia hero cards are currently available as limited edition NFTs on OpenSea, with all net proceeds going to the organisations our heroes support, such as Habitat For Humanity, Black Lives Matter, Skate Like A Girl, and AAPI.”

You can collect them all including modern marketing heroes like Bozoma St John, or Fernando Machado.

Shame there isn’t an Australian version. Dr Mumbo would spend copious sums of money to collect the likes of Brent Smart, Lisa Ronson, Mim Haysom, Brent Hill and more. Perhaps there could be special edition agency super heroes as well – an Adam Ferrier gold foil would be quite something.

Those that say the media and marketing industry is full of egos, well, this idea may not help. However, proceeds go to good causes so Dr Mumbo will get behind it.
