Weber Shandwick expands to Melbourne and appoints Simon Schweigert as GM
PR agency Weber Shandwick has announced its expansion to Melbourne through the appointment of Simon Schweigert as general manager, Melbourne.
Schweigert joins from comms agency Peninsula Partnerships where he was MD.
Chairman Ian Rumsby said: “Simon’s appointment is one of a number of carefully-considered steps we are taking to build and strengthen our Australian-wide service offer across geographies and disciplines. The response of our clients and those in our team has been incredibly encouraging, and we look forward to the contribution a Melbourne office will make to our business.”
Rumsby told Mumbrella, Australia MD Emma-Jane Granleese is scheduled to return from maternity leave later this year while Lisa Popplewell – also on maternity leave – will return in August as GM, Sydney and Head of Technologies Practice.
