Webjet appoints Oonagh Flanagan as new chief marketing officer
Former Funlab and Nimble chief marketer Oonagh Flanagan has joined Webjet Group as its first local chief marketing officer.
She will oversee the marketing strategy for Webjet Online Travel Agency (OTA) in Australia and New Zealand, while also leading loyalty initiatives across Webjet Group.
Flanagan will help advance the group’s FY30 strategic priorities across marketing, loyalty, digital platforms, and ecommerce, including a refresh of the Webjet OTA brand, set to launch later this year.
Webjet Group aims to double its total transaction value (TTV) by FY30 and “redefine the travel experience” through digital innovation. Central to this, according to the group, is technology. Flanagan’s role will focus on data-driven insights and marketing technologies to enhance Webjet’s customer experience and connection.
This includes “exploring pathways” for how AI can improve marketing efficiencies, personalisation, and productivity.

“Webjet Group is doubling down on its strategic priorities as a standalone, ASX-listed travel leader,” Katrina Barry, CEO and managing director of Webjet Group, said in a release.
“Marketing plays a pivotal role in this new strategy, driving customer growth, increasing top-of-mind awareness, powering loyalty, and shaping the evolution of our brand.”
She said Flanagan’s appointment signals the group’s commitment to this vision.
“She brings the energy, creativity, and proven leadership needed to help elevate Webjet to the next level,” Barry said.
Flanagan has over 20 years of experience in marketing and leadership, including most recently as global chief marketing officer at Funlab. She was there for four years, where she led marketing across Funlab’s brand portfolio, including Strike Bowling, Holey Moley, Archie Brothers Cirque Electric, Hijinx Hotel, and more.
Prior to that, she spent nearly three years as chief product and marketing officer at digital lender Nimble, and nearly two as Local Agent Finder’s chief marketer. She has also held senior marketing roles at Crown Resorts, Ladbrokes, ANZ, and Paddy Power.
Flanagan said Webjet has “long been a well-loved, homegrown Aussie icon”. However, she said it feels the most energetic and ambitious now.
“As an avid traveller, I believe the holiday starts the moment you’re inspired, and I can’t wait to help ignite that spark for all Webjet customers,” she said in a release.
