‘We’ll have something for every traveller’: Nine launches 9Travel site

Nine is expanding its suite of websites with 9Travel – a new hub for travel news, reviews, guides, tips, and deals.

9Travel was developed after Nine’s own research found half of its 9Honey readers are planning on travelling in the next 12 months. Nine’s travel content previously sat within 9Honey, but will now been broken out into a new vertical, complete with a “dedicated cruise section”.

“Despite cost of living pressures, Australians are saving to support their love of travel, both at home and overseas. Our new site will help families find the best deals and latest travel news to help them plan their dream trip,” said nine.com.au Director Kerri Elstub.

“With a focus on popular destinations like Queensland, New Zealand, Bali, Fiji, and Hawaii, plus a selection of cruising, short trips and weekend getaways, we’ll have something for every traveller.”

Nine.com.au websites, which include 9News, Wide World Of Sport, 9Honey drew 9.9 million readers in December, according to Ipsos iris statistics, making it the third most-read media brand in the country, behind news.com.au, and the ABC.

9Travel will be run by editor Kristine Tarbert, while Sami Lukis has joined the site as an ambassador and a contributing writer.

“I’m beyond excited to be joining the team!” said Lukas.

“As someone who has always been travel obsessed, it’s a dream come true. I can’t wait to hit the road, and the air, and the oceans and share my fabulous travels with the 9Travel audience!”

Lukas launched her first column on the site this morning: ‘The world’s most obvious travel hack I can’t believe I’ve never thought about until now’.
