Western Sydney International Airport announces digital OOH tender

Advertisers working in the out-of-home space are officially being invited to partake in a tender process for the upcoming Western Sydney International Airport.

Opening today, the tender is expected to cover the airport’s external and internal digital advertising network. Companies that already undertook “an extensive registration of interest process” are expected to participate.

“We’re fast approaching our official opening in late 2026, at which point we’ll begin welcoming up to 10 million annual passengers from all parts of the globe,” shared Simon Hickey, chief executive officer of WSI.

“Airports are a unique environment in which businesses and brands can connect to those passengers in various ways as they travel through the precinct, so this tender is really an exciting opportunity for an OOH operator to seize this moment and deliver innovative advertising to a highly engaged audience.”

WSI’s OOH ecosystem will consist of approximately 80 digital advertising solutions situated around the airport. This includes screens located within terminals for targeting areas of high passenger traffic, and large-scale outdoor digital signage.

According to Hickey, the airport’s OOH tender is the latest to succeed a string of retail partner moves that are expected to shore up WSI’s service offerings, including foreign exchange, travel essentials and duty-free.

“While construction of Sydney’s new 24-hour airport is very nearly complete, our journey to welcome commercial partners to WSI is building more momentum each day, all of which will help make this airport a destination in its own right for passengers, workers and Western Sydney locals to enjoy world-class shopping, dining and amenities,” Hickey explained.

Located in Badgery’s Creek — roughly 41kms away from Sydney’s CBD — WSI will open to 24-hour cargo, international, and domestic services in late 2026.
