Westpac celebrates 40 years of the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Service in TV series

Westpac has marked its 40th year of its partnership with the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Service with a documentary TV series created in collaboration with MediaCom Beyond Advertising (MBA) and Fredbird Productions.

The six-part series, ‘Air Rescue’ captures rescues performed by the rescue helicopter service as it follows the work of the pilots, air crewman and intensive care paramedics of the Service.

MBA says it is the first brand funded series of its type that will run on a free-to-air channel during peak time and in a survey period.

Lisa Ronson, head of mass marketing services, Australian Financial Services said: “Westpac has been a very proud supporter of the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Service for 40 years. The dramatic and captivating stories highlight the remarkable and quite literally, lifesaving work which the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Service performs in the community, making the production of Air Rescue a very natural extension of our partnership.”

Gemma Hunter, executive creative director and head of MBA, said: “It was fantastic to work with Westpac on such a unique opportunity. The inherently dramatic and emotional work performed by the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Service offered compelling content to work with.”

The TV series is supported by 15 webisodes.

The Air Rescue Series began airing on Channel Seven last night.
