Westpac in Home Loans and eSaver accounts push
Westpac has repurposed two ads from last year to promote its home loans and online savings accounts
The ads, which briefly ran late last year, are now part of a wider media schedule, with a new end message tying in to Westpac’s 200th anniversary.
The 30-second commercial for Westpac Home Loans features a pregnant mum, daughter and pet dog enjoying their new backyard.
And a 15-second spot for the bank’s eSaver account features a woman taking a cross country adventure on a motorbike.
DDB is Westpac’s creative agency of record.
Westpac’s chief marketing officer Martine Jager will take marketers behind the scenes of the bank’s marketing strategy and its 200th year celebrration at Mumbrella’s Finance Marketing Summit in August. Love the commercial with the pregnant woman and her child and dog enjoying the back yard. The dog just blew me away. So cute, and showing all the love that he has to offer. Great commercial..

The new Westpac ad is a disgrace – apparently it is quite sad to have a child in an apartment (unlike the rest of the world) and the best thing is to have your ‘60sqm garden’ for the kids to play.. seriously guys? It’s like a kick in the guts for any Sydney Sider rying hard to save and own anything in this town.

It’s hard enough for any young family to afford a house in Sydney let alone the many struggling single mothers who would see this ad as an insult. Despicable cheap tactics by Westpac designed to make people feel guilty they cannot afford to give their kids a back yard and promoting higher debt. A real life ad instead of showing a carefree mum would show the problems that mortgage stress now causes families.
