Whiskas launch Catstacam to allow cat-lovers to follow their cats lives via Instagram
Mars Petcare has launched Whiskas Catstacam, a device that allows cats to take photos from their point of view and post them to their own Instagram account, allowing cat lovers to watch what their pets might be getting up to while they’re not at home.
The device is part of a campaign created by Clemenger BBDO Sydney and is designed to help cat owners get closer to their cats as they shoot a photo every 20 seconds and use motion-detector technology to capture real life moments from the cat’s point of view.
The photos are then upladed to the cats’ own Instagram profiles where their behaviour is analysed and decoded by a “Whiskas cat behaviour expert” through the hashtag #AskWhiskas.
Maybe enough owners get to see first hand their pampered moggie slaughtering native wildlife night after night after night they will be motivated to be more responsible and not let their cat out at night. Here’s hoping.

^^^ What Cannes Laughter said ^^^
The little fuckers are the biggest cause of depletion in our native fauna.
If that camera weighs about 5 kilos, this exercise might help that more pressing environmental need.
you miserable [edited under Mumbrella’s comment policy]! – bet you believe in climate change too….!
Hasn’t this tech been around for a few years now so think that when it says Clemenger produced them is a bit of a stretch.
Um, cats sleep for two-thirds of their lives, so most of these videos are going to be BORING!
Brilliant! I want one!
My cat, Hawkeye, is an Avenger. With this device I can get realtime updates of him defeating various super villains, such as Loki, Dr. Doom, and Bullseye.
Adgrunt and Cannes….
I have six cats, not a single one of them go outside Without a lead , Ever! Your a pair of dicks if u think cats are the problem where our native fauna is concerned. Animals are driven by nature not malice! The problem is irresponsible pet owners who don’t properly supervise their cat. Blame them not the poor kitties.
Anyone smell a scam, just in time for Cannes?
scammy, scam, scam
Meeeeoooowwww….
I’m wondering who to sue when your cat starts posting naked pictures of me sunbathing in my own garden?
