Why is it you’re so successful?
Dr Mumbo has seen some pretty neat native advertising of late – and indeed the melding of ads and brand message can be informative and entertaining when done right.
But he was surprised to see this effort popping up on Sky News this week from the good folk at Kosec, starring the every reliable John Mangos.

Not even the trusted hands of Mangos can retrieve this effort for investment advisor Kosec starring its less than charismatic CEO Michael Kodari.
Stiffly scripted to within an inch of its life and with Mangos delivering the interview with all the enthusiasm of a man ordering aluminium siding.
Mind you it must be tough delivering such searching questions as “why is it so many wealthy and successful investors have placed their trust in you?” and “You’ve outperformed the market on a regular basis, why is it you are so successful?”.
It should come with a warning that it’s a minute of your life you will never get back, and Dr Mumbo hopes Mangos at least got a juicy stock tip out of the whole affair.
Mr. Burns: your campaign seems to have the momentum of a runaway freight train. Why are you so popular?

“And so it is when green geese are a breeding”
There is reality and there is fantasy, then again there is something called verisimilitude, which is neither.
The nameless travesty above, is usually the result of a clumsy set up. In this case, two people drawn from reality, and asked to perform a theatrical representation featuring their own individual reality from a script fashioned for the fantasy, but intended to look and sound real.
In the theatre there is no reality beyond the real task at hand, which is not to emulate reality, but create verisimilitude, or an appearance of truth.
