Wicked Campers’ vans are serial Ad Standards Board offenders

In November last year, the Queensland Government started to introduce a legislation where it would deregister vans with slogans that are found to be offensive by the ASB.

Both Tasmania and Queensland have now already passed laws to deregister Wicked Vans if the company does not abide by ASB rulings.

A spokesperson from the ASB told Mumbrella the Queensland Government had not confirmed if the number plate belonged to the state.

The rental van company did not provide a response to the ruling.

The ASB said the vehicle’s slogan was offensive as it included the work ‘fuck’ and “its derivatives were not appropriate for an audience that would include children and that it is a word which most members of the community would consider offensive”.

In July, another Wicked Campers van was censured by the ad watchdog for vilification.

The two Western Australian rulings promoted the Advertising Standards Bureau, New South Wales, Western Australia and Victoria continue discussions regarding the rental van company.
