Wicked Campers reprimanded yet again for ‘highly sexualised’ language

Rental van company Wicked Campers, which has fallen foul of Ad Standards over 80 times, has yet again had another vehicle banned for “highly sexualised language”.

The vehicle deemed too rude for the roads had the slogan “Am I still a virgin if I take it up the shitter?” and had multiple complaints posted to Ad Standards labelling the van as “grossly offensive”.

“This kind of highly offensive and sexually explicit material should not be in public, on a main highway, where anyone including young children can read it.

“I do not want that to be a sign of today’s moral compass. It’s highly offensive to anyone I would have thought,” the complaints stated.

Ad Standards said the van “did not treat the issue of sex, sexuality and nudity with sensitivity to the relevant broad audience”.

The ad watchdog also noted it used the word ‘shitter’ which insinuated sexual content which was “too strong for a broad audience”.

Upholding the complaints, Ad Standard concluded the van is very colourful and is likely to attract attention and is inappropriate for an audience which would include children.
