Will 24: Live Another Day after low launch on Ten?
Ten saw a disappointing launch for the return of US import 24: Live Another Day as the widely promoted show which ran for the first 24 minutes without ad breaks scored just 400,000 metro viewers, according to OzTam.
The program, promoted as part of Ten’s “amazing May” along with Masterchef and the new season of Offspring, to be launched on Wednesday, averaged 400,000 and 313,000 for the first two episodes of the truncated season, which returns after a four-year hiatus, on from 8.45pm to 10.30pm. The show ranked 25th and 30th in all programs and fourth in its timeslot.
Masterchef led into 24 with a metro audience of 735,000, ranking 16th for the night and eighth in Ten’s target demographic of people 25-54. 24: Live Another Day was 16th and 25th in that category.
Ten had previewed 24 for 24 hours last Monday, straight after it launched in the US and was shown in the UK, with the program claiming around 10,000 streams.
Masterchef was also fourth in its timeslot after Australian Story on ABC1.
Nine won all timeslots from 6pm with The Voice taking the top program of the night with 1.663m and then The Big Bang Theory scoring 1.04m from and 779,000 between 9.11pm and 10.11pm.
Seven was second with 1.292m for House Rules, up against The Voice and Masterchef at 7.30pm, and 734,000 for US drama Revenge from 9pm.
ABC1 beat 24 with 550,000 for Four Corners from 8.30pm and 607,000 for Media Watch at 9.19pm, followed by Q&A which averaged 539,000.
Nine had a slight edge over Seven in the news hour, with 1.257m viewers in the first half hour of Nine News while Seven news had 1.241m and Nine News 6.30 had 1.192m as Seven News and Today Tonight averaged 1.134m.
Nine also won the night with 26.2 per cent of the audience share as Seven trailed with 22.5 per cent and ABC1 followed with a 12.7 per cent share. Ten was fourth for the night with a 10.7 per cent audience share.

With Amazing May delivering atrocious ratings indicative of the year to date, what about Juggernaut June?

Ten are probably happy with these results…..they have got used to these benchmarks !
Another apology from Management again….

Stick with it Ten (Masterchef and 24 good double)

Ten’s just toxic.
You could switch the entire programming schedules of Ten and Seven, and – for example – all of a sudden MasterChef would be pulling the ratings of House Rules, and vice-versa.

Just an observation
Ten has been running promos for a few weeks saying that 24 was “Coming Soon”. However, I didn’t see any that actually promoted the date and time. I searched the Foxtel EPG last week … nothing. I read an article in the weekend papers … searched again … still not there. Finally, I was able to record it and will watch it sometime this week.
Little wonder that the live audience is so small when they make it so hard to find when it is on!

Saying nobody is watching channel 10 because of a bias is just stupid…..House Rules on 10 would still rate as it would on 7, where is the sense in that?
The return of Offspring is huge for Ten, no reason this shouldn’t do well besides a lack of awareness because nobody is watching the lead up programs.

Let’s be honest – everyone passionate about 24 downloaded it a week earlier when it aired in the US.

Says a lot about viewers if repeats of the terrible Big Bang get above Revenge and MasterChef, Stick with it TEN a good double but why oh why do you not start it at 7.00pm, get rid of Modern Family and put the Project back to 6.00 as you
have a good news but people turn off after the news, if The Project was on I would watch it and turn to ELEVEN at 6.30.
And I tend to agree with Robbo, if you put the same shows on SEVEN they would rate higher. TEN in my opiniojn need to do something very different like starting their reality stuff at 7.00 pm

There is as much credibility in your statement that “everyone” passionate downloaded it a week earlier as me saying “no-one downloads” – and there is ZERO credibility in THAT statement.

For a channel top heavy with agency bods, I’m amazed at the inability to sell a good product. You dopes. And yes, I am a shareholder, so kindly get your collective shit together.

They aired it on Monday. Sorry – Monday is GoT night. Any other night and it stood a chance.
