Wimbledon men’s final serves overall win for Nine

The Wimbledon 2022 Men’s Final match between Djokovic and Kyrgios on Nine last night topped entertainment programming, setting up Nine to win overall share for the evening, and win the week.

The match scored 785,000 metro viewers, and also topped all three key advertising demos.

Nine took the week ending 10 July with a network share of 29.6% over Seven’s 22.8%, while Ten finished the week on 21.4% and the ABC with a 17.1% share.

Nine also won the primary channel share for the week, with a 20.8% share ahead of Seven’s 15.9%, while the top multi-channel for the week was 7mate on 4.4%.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 3 July, Seven News was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.512 million viewers, including 33,000 on BVOD, and uplift of 2%. The biggest uplift of the week was an episode of ABC’s Mystery Road with an uplift of 53% and aired to a total audience of 968,000.

Looking at Sunday’s ratings, Ten’s MasterChef Australia topped non-sport entertainment, with the first episode of finale week bringing in 604,000 metro viewers, followed very closely by Nine’s Australian Ninja Warrior, which picked up significantly with an average of 599,000 metro viewers.

The Wimbledon Pre-Match entertainment on Nine followed, with an average of 472,000 metro viewers, then Julia Zemiro’s Home Delivery on ABC, with an average of 427,000 metro viewers.

In other sport, Seven’s Sunday AFL brought in 320,000 metro viewers, while Nine’s Sunday afternoon NRL had 320,000 metro viewers.

ABC’s Mystery Road brought in 309,000 metro viewers, while Big Brother on Seven had 278,000 metro viewers.

Overall, Seven News was the #1 metro program on Sunday with 940,000metro viewers followed by Nine News on Sunday with 932,000 metro viewers. 7News Spotlight had 635,000 metro viewers, while ABC News brought in 526,000.

Nine won the night, taking an overall network share of 37.2% over Seven’s 23.5%, while Ten took a 17.9% share and the ABC had 12.2%.

Nine also won the primary channel share, with 29.4%, and the top-rating multi-channel on Sunday was 7Mate with a share of 3.9%.
