WIN creates new network programming manager role
The WIN Network has appointed Danny Mitrovic, former senior programmer at WIN to the newly-created role of network programming content manager.
Mitrovic spent 14 years with WIN across programming and production roles, before he created his own production company in 2012.
His new role will focus directly on content across technology and all WIN television platforms.
Andrew Lancaster, CEO at WIN, said Mitrovic was fit for the role due to his time spent with the company as it continued to grow.
“He will be a great asset to WIN as we continue to deliver programming to regional Australia,” Lancaster said.
“This new role is also recognition of the evolving needs of our viewing audience. Regional Australians are avid consumers of local news and along with our other programming content, Danny will be responsible for ensuring the broadcast schedule content meets the needs of our regional viewers.”
Mitrovic said he is looking forward to the new challenges the job will bring with multiple platforms and digital channels.”
Mitrovic commence his new role, today, Monday January 30.

Serious question – what does a programmer at a regional affiliate do? The regional stations take the exact programming of the metro station, and show two or three local programs a week max.

Seriously? the same as a programmer in Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide or Perth – keep reminding the general manager (who’s probably a former shoe salesman) and the rest of the staff (who these days are mostly just Walkley-wannabees) that they actually work in the “entertainment” biz!
