Winners & Losers proves to be another winner for Seven

Seven appears to have created another drama hit with Winners & Losers debuting with 1.611m – only just behind the audience for last week’s episode of Packed To The Rafters in the same timeslot.

Winners & Losers was the biggest show  of the night, according to preliminary overnight metro figures from OzTam.

In another night dominated by Seven, My Kitchen Rules was second with 1.552m viewers.

Winners & Losers played particularly strongly in Melbourne, where it rated 570,000 to My Kitchen Rules’ 481,000. It also won in Adelaide. But My Kitchen Rules actually narrowly won the night in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.

The show also played particularly well in the advertiser-friendly grocery buyers and homes with children demographic, with a timeslot share of 56%.

However, it should be noted that Winners & Losers was heavily promoted by the network, so it may take a few weeks for the show to find its audience level.

In a poor night for Nine, the network’s only entertainment show in the top ten was The Big Bang Theory with 1.029m. Top Gear averaged 762,000.

Ten did slightly better with NCIS pulling in 1.103m.

However, there was at least something for Nine to cheer about in the morning slot, with a rare victory for Today (367,000) over Sunrise (356,000). Meanwhile Ten’s The Circle (104,000)  beat Kerri-Anne Kennerley (94,000) although The Morning Show (159,000) was well ahead of both.
